Built on experience.Built to do things right.

My name is Jake Yarbrough, and I started Yarbrough Shower Doors & Glass because I wanted to build something of my own, work with my hands, and do work I could actually be proud of.

The short version

Six years of glass before my own name went on the truck

Before starting YSD&G, I spent six years working in the glass industry here in Omaha. I worked my way through just about every type of shower door and enclosure possible — from standard boxed doors you can buy at Home Depot or Lowe's to fully custom frameless shower enclosures. Over those years, I became one of the most experienced installers at the local shower door company where I worked.

I learned pretty quickly that my attention to detail and eye for perfection worked to my advantage in this trade. There's something genuinely fulfilling about taking a project from measurements and pieces of glass to a finished enclosure that completely changes the look of a bathroom.

Eventually, the company I worked for was bought out, and I decided it was time to take what I'd learned and build something of my own.

Doing good work is only part of running a good business.
One thing I've learned since starting YSD&G
  • Answering the phone matters.
  • Returning a text matters.
  • Being honest about what's happening with someone's project matters.

I try to be as transparent as possible from the first conversation through the finished installation. If there's a problem, I won't hide it. If I make a mistake, I'll own it. If we hit an unexpected hurdle, I'll explain what's going on and lay out the options for getting past it.

Some of the most rewarding parts of running this business have been the genuine relationships I've built with customers along the way. Those interactions mean more to me than any five-star review.

At the end of the day, I want someone who hires me to come away thinking:

“This guy genuinely cares about my project, and he's going to do it right.”

What I pay attention to

The details that decide how glass looks

A shower enclosure is judged on fit and finish. That comes down to a handful of things done carefully.

  • Measurements

Openings measured for how they were actually built.

  • Hardware selection

Hardware chosen to suit the glass and the configuration.

  • Alignment & fit

Doors hung, aligned and adjusted to swing and close properly.

  • Sealing & finish

Sealed cleanly so the finished enclosure looks finished.

Warranty

1-year warranty on custom installations

Locally owned and personally accountable. If something needs attention after the install, you're calling the people who did the work.
